Home of the Small Sand Doll
UNPACKING THE TENNESSEE REDNECKS
Days seemed like years, hours seemed like days, seconds went by like cars on the freeway.
Pes was in a mood waiting for the parcel to arrive. She would not sleep and waited at the door for the delivery.
Then oneday, a note arrived from the Post Office. It read, "International parcel to collect, signature required......" .
A large brown cardboard box sealed with sticky tape made the journey from the Post Office.
Immediately, Pes was on it, then in it, shredded paper went everywhere as she hurriedly unpacked the contents.
Revealing five brightly coloured tube boxes neatly packed in the centre of the carton.
Up popped the first tube box and out popped the first doll......
She was a girl with mod purple hair and pretty blue ribbons, Pes gave her a welcome cuddle before opening another tube.
Another girl doll with the same colour hair, Pes wondered what unpacking duck eggs would be like and hoped the new dolls wouldn't wander off to find water. She wondered if they could float on their backs or if they would sink like Potty.
She wanted more girls but the third doll was ......
a boy!
Pes thought he needed a haircut and wondered why he didn't have a plait and some ribbons. Maybe she could take him shopping later and buy some.
But now, there was more unpacking to be done. She struggled with the long tube box and eventually opened the top flap.
Whoa!!, this one had long hair also. Maybe there were no barbers in Tennessee where the dolls grew up. Pes wondered if the skinny Barbie doll lived there too, she needed a haircut.
The fourth doll unpacked, Pes asked him why he had all that hair. He looked at her and thought she had just as much. Then he saw the two Guatemala worry dolls on her hat. He thought she was a witch doctor from the southern bayou, then he noticed the small grumpy doll attached to Pes's tummy. This made him nervous. He wondered if some of the 'Lord of the Rings' characters had escaped from New Zealand, and whether he would be end up in a witches brewing pot. He was speechless and just looked at her.
Pes thought he was very rude. She was more concerned why there were three boys and only two girls. Maybe one had fallen out in the ocean and floated away to Hawaii.
Enough of worrying, it was time to party.
The story of the Tennessee Redneck linedancers to be continued......
